West Bay Housing Society Limited is an unregistered (exempt) charity constituted under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1965 (Registered Number 16230R)
The Rules of the Society are based on Model H.9 1967 (Charitable) published by the National Federation of Housing Societies.
The Society is administered by a Management Committee currently comprised of the following members:

- Lorna Hill (Member)
- June Jones (Member)
- Jacqui Waterfall (Member)
- Mike Carter (Member)
- Alex Alexander (Member)
- Sue Reichter (Secretary – Non member)
New Committee Members (and Members of the Society) are normally recruited through existing and local contacts. The Committee is aware of the need to establish a balance of skills within its membership, and has recently considered the need to review induction and training for those undertaking important governance roles.
The Committee meets monthly to determine and monitor policies relating to the care of residents; employment of staff; financial management; property maintenance; planning for future development, and other relevant issues. An annual meeting of all members of the Society is held in November. This meeting appoints the members of the Committee.
Day to day management is entrusted to the Home Manager, Jean Adams.

The Society’s bankers are National Westminster PLC, East Street, Bridport; the Auditors are Martin and Company, 2 Victoria Grove, Bridport; and the Solicitors are Nantes, East Street, Bridport.
The object of the Society is to provide a safe, comfortable and caring environment where the residents can enjoy a high quality of life and be enabled to live as in their own homes, where their privacy is ensured and they can feel secure.
At Government level, regular inspection of Harbour House is undertaken by the Commission for Social Care Inspection.
